Born 1965 in Inverness and co-founder of Bikes of Inverness with Hamish and Roddy.
As a joiner, along with Roddy we built the shop from scratch back in 1987.
My sport background from the age of 15 was road cycling. I did this till the age of 29 with the highlight being representing Scotland in the 1994 Commonwealth games in Canada.
I am married to my wife Lynn and we have three
lovely kids, Alasdair, Isla and Findlay.
I'm an ex international cyclist whose highlights throughout my racing career include 9th Commonwealth Games Road Race, 4th on GC twice Rás Tour of Ireland and breaking Graeme O'Bree's Scottish Hour Record.
" I've been with the shop since the start, I remember sitting in a car with Roddy looking at an old building in poor state of repair discussing on whether we could turn this into a bike shop business. Kenny agreed to come on board, the old building was demolished, shop was opened in November 1988.
We had to work right through the night to get opened on time for that first day. At my 'Day Job' that afternoon - I momentarily fell asleep in front of a work colleague mid conversation - no stamina !

Coming from a Trials background meant that repairs have been high on the to do list since the first bike arriving.
Since then I have had a lot of time working on my own Bikes and maintaining them to a high quality competitive standard.
I still maintain a presence within the Trials community but as of late my main interest has switched towards Road, Gravel and Mountain biking.
Although at the more mature end of the age range (secret) I'm still involved in many club level cycling events. My personal favorite being cyclo-cross due to the variety of terrain conditions and technical skills involved.
I also occasionally work as a ride guide with Service Course which is a company specializing in high end corporate cycle tours.
Hi, I am Iain MacDonald.
I started work part time in the shop this year 2019, after 35 years in the Scottish Ambulance Service.
I enjoy going out on the bike and taking part in various sporting events
Hi, my name is Gavin and I am one of the mechanics in the shop. I live in Inverness with my partner Sarah and our spaniel Chuck. Outside of work I spend my time gaming, hillwalking with Chuck and I love music, especially live music. Mostly it’s just riding bikes though!
Road racing is my passion, I have competed on the road for around 10 years. Currently riding for Torvelo Racing with a focus on the Scottish elite road series. My main goal is to win the Scottish National Road Champs after finishing 3rd in 2021.
I was kindly asked by the team to work part time in the workshop, as I have a mechanical engineering background, having served my time in A.I. Welders - Rose Street Foundary for those old enough to remember! I grabbed the opportunity.
I started cycling later in life as a health lifestyle change and have not stopped since. I have progressed from the gym spin classes to the road. I bought a few bikes based on advice from the Bikes of Inverness lads and friends who I have caught up with on the road after many years.
I’ve been working with bikes since the BMX heydays of the 1980’s and have continued to do so through my time as a soldier and a police officer. I enjoy mountain biking although my passion is for the road. Obsessed with TT racing I still have a taste for adventure. This started with a JoG-LE raising funds for the Highland Hospice and continued with a coast to coast crossing of the Icelandic interior.
Hello there. I am Julian Innes who is one of the part time members of staff. I work through the front shop as I am not to be trusted with any of the tools!
I started work at Bikes of Inverness in 2016 having retired from the Police after thirty years of public service. I can see me being here longer than the Police!
